How do I uninstall Google Chrome

How do I * completely * uninstall Google Chrome from my Mac?

I have 2 iMacs and I just installed OS X Lion (reinstall) on one of them (let's call it iMac A). Took a time machine backup and restored that backup to my other iMac (B) to avoid a duplicate installation. Everything works fine except that Google Chrome on iMac B (where the time machine backup was restored) is extremely slow. Opening a new tab is slow, opening a webpage is slow, etc. Safari on B is fast and works like A, so Chrome is only slow on B (and Chrome is my browser of choice, so I would like it to be in full swing ).

To fix the problem in B, I tried uninstalling Chrome by dragging it to the trash and emptying it. Then reinstall Chrome. But all of my settings, extensions, etc. are still there and it's just as slow as it was before.

AppCleaner downloaded and thus uninstalled. When I reinstall Chrome I have all of my extensions etc and it's as slow as it was before reinstalling.

Can someone completely uninstall my Google Chrome browser so that I can reinstall it?

Delete that:

user> library> application support> google> chrome .. just delete the chrome folder because i think it is the place where you keep the settings.

Here is a shell script that will remove any files I could find:

AppZapper and App Cleaner did not find the application support folder:

In addition to 's comment, do where plugins ("apps") are saved by the browser.

Try this

  1. Right-click Chrome in your Dock at the bottom of your computer screen.
  2. Choose Exit.
  3. Open the Finder.
  4. Go to the folder with the Google Chrome application on your computer.
    • Tip: It might be in your Applications folder. If not, go to File, then Search and look for "Google Chrome".
  5. Drag Google Chrome to the trash.
  6. Optional: Clear your profile information such as bookmarks and history:

    • At the top of the screen, click Go, then click Go to Folder.
    • Enter
    • Click on Go.
    • Select all of the folders and drag them to the trash.
